NOIR ABÎME
NOIR ABÎME is a journey, an exploration and a personal interpretation based on the relationship between Black Metal and nature, which plays an important role in this musical movement.
Black Metal is characterised by its dark atmosphere, its fast, aggressive, melancholic and dissonant rhythms, and its guttural, inhuman, animal and demonic vocals, which resonate with the most powerful aspects of nature.
Mystical and spiritual music, it is based on the negativity of being. So it's easy to understand Black Metal's fascination with beauty uncontaminated by man, finding in it refuge from the ills of our society, solitude, solace, inspiration and nostalgia for a time gone by when humanity was connected to nature.
However, Black Metal is also attracted by the most gloomy, inhospitable, mysterious and dangerous aspects of nature. It offers the spectacle of a world where evil, the standard-bearer of insubordination and freedom, emerges triumphant in the face of good, representing submission and servitude. In a pacified, sanitised world that glorifies life, Black Metal celebrates death, the cornerstone of this music, acting as a ‘memento mori’ to remind us of this inevitability, in the same way that tableaux of macabre dances did in times of plague, famine and war. This is also nature without rules, where life is so fragile and death so present. Animals are king here, and survival is a constant struggle. Nature commands respect for its grandeur, its dangers and its indomitability. Man then becomes aware of his size, his place on earth and his weaknesses.
NOIR ABÎME is an invitation to plunge into the darkness of this heterotopia, to soak up all the blackness the world has to offer.
